Freya was one of my favorite sheep. Freya was a Gotland cross ewe with a beautiful steel grey fleece that was very typically Gotland. Freya's fleece is similar to an Icelandic or Shetland sheep in character, with bold waves rather than fine crimps. Because of this, her fleece does not spin well commercially and so only one batch of yarn was made. Freya was an incredibly sweet ewe with a very friendly personality. She was shy when younger but then decided one day to be friendly. We miss her lovely face since she passed from old age.
